Collecting a soil sample from a problem area in your lawn or garden.

Use soil that is not freshly fertilized. If soil is wet, air dry on clean paper or other suitable material.
Each problem area that differs in appearance, plant growth, or past treatment should be sampled separately.
  1. Locate the problem area in your lawn or garden you wish to test.
  2. Using the included trowel, dig 2″ to 4″ deep. Take the soil sample from this level.
  3. Fill soil bag to the “Fill Line.” Use the postage-paid envelope to mail the soil sample to the lab.
